Actors Helping Actors
ACTORS HELPING ACTORS RETURNS IN THE FALL!
As an actor you need to practice, practice, practice in order to improve in acting craft!
And that is why the Actors Helping Actors group was created!
ACTORS HELPING ACTORS - MANDATE
Actors Helping Actors (AHA) is a group for local actors coming together to develop their craft in a safe, relaxed and fun atmosphere.
This group is geared towards Actors who want to; sharpen their skills, learn new skills, network, and share their expertise with others.
Why? Acting is a profession and just like any other profession the more you do it, the better you get at it.
How does it work? AHA is a member's driven group. That means the more you put into it, the better it is for you and everyone in the group.
Practical/ hands-on sessions cover: selected scene studies, monologues, and practice auditions, blocking/rehearsals, improvisational work, voice lessons, and mini-productions.
Theory/discussion sessions may involve topics such as: character analysis, how to prepare for a scene, what makes a good headshot and resume, demo reels, the business side of acting, working with directors, and anything else that keeps actors up at night!
Networking sessions will be a mixture of schmoozing with producers and directors as well as getting to know each other outside the practice space.
Joining AHA: Actors Helping Actors is open to any and all actors - 18 years of age or older. You can be experienced or beginner - it does not matter, but you should be interested in developing your acting skills and sharing your knowledge of the craft with other members.
Where and when does it happen? Actors Helping Actors happens at the Charlotte Street Art Centre in Fredericton NB at a scheduled time booked by the leads of the group or by the presenter of the session. Our home base is in the NB Film Co-ops basement resource centre.
Don't be late because the big screen waits!
