My goal as a screenwriter, journalist and author is to entertain and, often, to inform or influence. My objectives are simple: don’t bore or confuse my audience. If I can accomplish that, my goals can be met.

But what stories engage us?
Come prepared to tell us a couple of films that you’ve watched more than once and why. What types of stories do you love and why? What are their themes? Which do you hate?

Which characters do we love spending time with? What plots keep us guessing, hoping, pumped up or crying? What makes a good setting?
