Cat LeBlanc

Cat was born in Miramichi in the village of Nelson.

She received her English Degree and Gerontology certificate at St. Thomas University. Cathie is primarily a music composer/songwriter now.

Cat was awarded the CBC Pioneer Award at the Atlantic Film Festival in 2010 and was one of four women from Atlantic Canada presented with the 2011 WAVE Awards for film, TV and new media, honouring women in the industry for their accomplishments, vision, leadership and dedication.

Originally from Miramichi, Cat LeBlanc's folk, pop and jazz song compositions are extremely personal in their lyrical imagery.

Cat has a body of original songs to her credit and has also done music for film and commercials. She received an artsnb music scholarship to expand and develop her songwriting, a CC songwriting grant, a further grant from artsnb to create a new body of music and, a grant from the province of NB to do her first professional Music EP.

Cat was recently accepted as a musician in residence at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in January of 2018 for three weeks, did an artist residency at the Garrison Night Market through Gallery ARC and, her most recent artist residency in Italy in April, 2019.

Cat is now being mentored in songwriting by award-winning singer/songwriter Dan Hill and NB based singer/songwriter Debbie Adshade.

Cat does solo work, and has her own band called Cat LeBlanc and the Samsonites.
