Course des Regions Pancanadienne 2016
Call for Entries extended for filmmakers from regions outside Québec.
Sherbrooke, July 28th, 2016 – The « Course des Régions » invites emerging French Expression filmmakers to apply to the first Canadian edition of the « Course des Régions Pancanadienne » before August 5th, 2016.
For the first time in its history, the « Course des Régions » is Canada-wide. We extend the call for entries for emerging filmmakers of the Canadian Francophonie, divided into four regions for the occasion: the Atlantic, Ontario, the Prairies and finally Western Canada. The « Course des Régions Pancanadienne » has a total of 21 regions in 2016.
Who can participate?
Filmmakers of French expression, that can script and film in the French language, are invited to register on the coursedesregions.com before August 5th, 2016. The call for entries is open to artists that are 18 to 35 years old. To register, applicants must submit a short film (1-2 min).
A total of 21 filmmakers (one per region) will be selected to participate in a stimulating experience for six weeks. They will receive a production budget and will be mentored by professionals from the National Institute of Image and Sound (INIS) in order to produce a short film of professional quality. Finally, awards of excellence will be given to filmmakers who have distinguished themselves during the competition at the Evening Premiere, a live broadcast event, next October.
