Our heartfelt condolences to NBFC member Arthur Thomson and his family on the loss of his dear mother recently and, to the family of NBFC member Rosi Jory. Every year the New Brunswick Film Co-op (NBFC) celebrates Canada Film Day by screening a Canadian film. This year, for Canada 150, the film co-op has partnered with similar centres to apply for various grants to do with Canada 150 activities.
The co-op, run out of Fredericton by Tony Merzetti and Cat LeBlanc, also organizes and hosts the annual Silver Wave Film Festival in Fredericton, a celebration of New Brunswick and international film talent.
It’s safe to say that many films in New Brunswick, would never be made were it not for the film co-op. The NBFC is a non-profit in its 38th year of operation that offers resources, training and workshops to filmmakers. The weekly newsletter keeps people around the world updated on the latest film news in New Brunswick, as well as casting calls and upcoming screenings. It is not a granting agency, rental house or commercial production company, but a place to help grow the local industry and train anyone interested in film. CLICK HERE to read Alex's full Blog!
