It’s that time of the year again. We’re busy planning the annual Women Making Waves Conference which will take place in Halifax March 2 – 3, 2018.
Save the date!
We’re writing to you because one of the highlights of the conference is the annual WAVE Award ceremony.
The WAVE Awards honour remarkable women working in film, television, and screen based-media. This year we will present the WAVE Awards during a special lunch which will also include a session with one of our keynote speakers on Saturday March 3rd.
Do you know a woman from any of the Atlantic provinces who should be recognized for her work in the industry?
Any woman in the Atlantic Canadian industry, at any level, can be nominated: from directors to set designers, bookkeepers to producers – every role is eligible!
Deadline for nominations: January 24, 2018

We hope to see you at the conference in March!
FROM OUR DARK SIDE
Our From Our Dark Side National Genre Concept Competition, supported by Telus, Super Chanel, Creative BC, & Telefilm, and in partnership with Raven Banner, Frontières International Co-Production Market, & XYZ films is currently accepting submissions until January 5th, 2018. Submissions consist of 3-5 page concepts in English, written by women who live in Canada. Five winners will be selected from across the country to participate in a 6-month incubator program with mentorship from leaders in Canada's genre film industry that will take their screenplay to the next level.
This years winners had the invaluable opportunity to pitch their projects at a brand new Directed By Women pitch session at the 2017 Frontières International Co-Production Market.
