CONNECTING MEMBERS - LARRY COLLICOTT
“I’m almost speechless - not quite, but almost. My project, Falter, is inspired by a series changes in my own personal faith which led to encounters with some cool people who have stories that I think should be shared. This grant is a privilege and opportunity which I am very excited to receive.”
Project Synopsis: A host walks across a lawn telling the viewer that faith can be a special thing both devout and deep that gives hope to those who possess it. He/she tells how some people lose faith in their religion or its adherents or in their God/god and that they do it in different ways, to different extents and with different outcomes. He/she summarizes their personal experience and comes to a stop before a church building.
The host listens to people tell their own stories and learns what he/she can.
Bio: Larry grew up in rural New Brunswick, but in 1983 moved to Fredericton where he has made his home and raised his family ever since. He is a lifelong IT professional who discovered the thrill of filmmaking in his late forties and has been caught up in it from that point on. At the 2017 Silver Wave Film Festival he made his festival debut with the short documentary Funny As F.U.C.C. and has more projects underway for 2018 and 2019 with KENLAR Productions, an amateur group which he founded with Ken McLaggan

The Logline
A man struggles to help the most beautiful man he knows find freedom from the burden of those who objectify him.
The Synopsis:
It’s an average Tuesday night when Aaron gets an email from his friend with a proposition. This friend, the most beautiful person he has ever known, explains how he is weary of his own beauty, weary of the unbearable weight of all those who covet him. “You are not your plainness. What if I am not my beauty?” he asks. And then proposes a brutal and efficient way that he might put an end to desire. With Aaron’s help. Aaron can’t help but agree to whatever the man proposes.

REGISTER FOR THE NBFC’S WORKSHOP SERIES!
The NB Film Co-op’s annual filmmaking workshop series presents classes in all aspects of filmmaking from screenwriting to editing to how to become a stunt person in film and television.
Many of the workshops help you learn the production process and where to find the resources to make your first film. The workshops are also filled with personal stories that will help you navigate the New Brunswick film community and your productions as a smart troubleshooter who is ready for anything that gets thrown at you.
Other workshops in the series cover different stages of the filmmaking process and the roles involved in those stages. Learn from professional filmmakers at different levels who are active in their field and connect with fellow workshop participants in this practical hands-on annual series.
All workshops are open to the public. There are discounts for NB Film Co-op members.
The Fredericton workshops have started for 2018. Register today! Check them out online at http://nbfilmcoop.com/workshops
Please email info@nbfilmcoop.com to ensure there are still spaces in any workshops you are interested in taking before you register.

UPDATE YOUR CAST AND CREW PROFILE TODAY!
So you've joined the NB Film Co-op. You've taken a bunch of workshops. You've gone to networking events. But you're still unsure how to actually get involved with a film shoot.
One way to get your name out there is to register for the NB Film Co-op Cast and Crew Profile. It's a database where filmmakers can see a list of members who are able to fill in various cast and crew positions. It's simple to fill out and in no time your name will be made available to all filmmakers who are looking for cast and crew for their upcoming projects. It has recently been modified to allow new members with little or no experience create a profile, and it also allows members to fill in a more complete resume if they wish.
It's also beneficial for our more experienced members too. It is a place where commercial filmmakers can go to search for people to hire for paid shoots, and it gives members a platform to self promote themselves and their work.
So please, take a few minutes to fill out your profile and help the Co-op promote you!
This benefit is only for Film Co-op members in good standing.
