CONNECTING MEMBERS - MARIE-ALICE VELLONE
Originally from Montreal; Marie-Alice Vellone graduated from CEGEP in cinema. She moved to New Brunswick in recently, and joined the NB Film Co-op. Marie-Alice likes to call herself a one woman show as she mostly does all of her projects by herself. Her most recent project was an experimental stop motion short, filmed with a Bolex Reflex camera and she fell in love with the camera and working in film. The NB Film Co-op has given her the opportunity to open up her field of expertise, to work with bigger crews and help out on projects and she is very thankful for their support.
Marie-Alice is now in pre-production for her new project Eucatastrophe. The short is a horror inspired drama on boredom in a relationship, that will be shot on a Bolex thanks to the Bolex Filmmaking Scholarship she has received from the Film Co-op.
Project Synopsis: A horror inspired drama about a relationship that turns to boredom after technology took over their life.
CONNECTING MEMBERS - LARRY COLLICOTT
Larry Collicott has some big news about the big screen and he is a little excited about it. The Cineplex Fredericton pre-show will soon include a 30 second promo he produced for a local charity race! Lobby monitors will play it during the week of May 18 and then on May 25 it will play on the big screens for a week. Don't be surprised if you see him there all week. All week. Every night.
Along with Jeremy Brubacher, he captured footage of last year's "MAF Flyin Feet Five Miler" for the promo and they donated their efforts to race organizer Jill Kozak in support of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF).
MAF pilots deliver aid and dedicated volunteers from some of the worlds most trusted charities to help in third world countries. Red Cross, World Vision, Doctors Without Borders, The World Health Organization and Unicef are just some of those organizations.
This year's race takes place on June 9 in Fredericton's Odell Park. The route takes you through the park's main trails where you experience a dynamic terrain surrounded by an eye full of new life springing up in in all its varied settings - shaded woods with refreshing streams, green grassy park, and Fredericton's Botanical Gardens. This challenging run is a great reminder of the the difficult terrain (watch out for that last hill!) where MAF often lands in very remote areas of the world.
For more details about the race please visit https://raceroster.com/events/2018/13475/maf-flyin-feet-five-miler
All proceeds of this run will go to further the work of MAF.

UPDATE YOUR CAST AND CREW PROFILE TODAY!
So you've joined the NB Film Co-op. You've taken a bunch of workshops. You've gone to networking events. But you're still unsure how to actually get involved with a film shoot.
One way to get your name out there is to register for the NB Film Co-op Cast and Crew Profile. It's a database where filmmakers can see a list of members who are able to fill in various cast and crew positions. It's simple to fill out and in no time your name will be made available to all filmmakers who are looking for cast and crew for their upcoming projects. It has recently been modified to allow new members with little or no experience create a profile, and it also allows members to fill in a more complete resume if they wish.
It's also beneficial for our more experienced members too. It is a place where commercial filmmakers can go to search for people to hire for paid shoots, and it gives members a platform to self promote themselves and their work.
So please, take a few minutes to fill out your profile and help the Co-op promote you!
This benefit is only for Film Co-op members in good standing. Email info@nbfilmcoop.com to find out more info.
