CASTING CALL!
Casting call for non-union, no-budget independent short. Volunteer labour
Working Title: Overgrowth
Synopsis: A brother and sister struggle to survive in a mysterious post-apocalyptic world where they must confront and question the very philosophies that have kept them alive.
Genre: Short – Post-Apocalyptic Thriller
Length: 20 minutes
Format: HD Video
Director: Mathew Gracie
Producers: Mathew Gracie, Ty Giffin, Erin Sawden (Film Co-op members)
Shoot Dates: May, 2019 – Nackawic (carpool transportation available)
Character Bios:[JAMES] [Male] [20-35): A man hardened by what he’s done to survive, worn down by the world. His philosophy is to shoot first and ask questions later, largely in his efforts to keep his younger sister alive. He begins to question his own behavior when he can no longer stomach the guilt from his actions.
[HARRY] [Male] [35- ~55]: Leader of a group of people dedicated to survival at all costs, seemingly approachable and caring, though this only serves to mask a deep arrogance, and a selfish and morally tainted nature.
[OLIVIA] [Female] [20-40]: A follower of Harry. She takes no pleasure in what she does to survive, but in the end, the only person she cares about is herself.
[SAM] [Male] [20-35]: Another follower of Harry. He appears to be remorseful of his actions, though this is largely just an act of cowardice, not wanting to be held responsible for what he’s done.
[KEVIN] [Male] [20-35]: Another follower of Harry. He has no guilt or remorse for his actions. Instead he is both cocky and enthusiastically violent.
~8 Extras, Male & Female, All Ages
