CONNECTING MEMBERS - CHRIS GILES
Here is a small part of things I have been creating the past year. Pick of the pugs borrows from a live Captain Beefheart performance and a Queen music video. Bird Chirp was a bit of an inspired editing treat. The band's delicious ideas and resourcefulness really show through. In post with two more music videos for Motherhood.

CONNECTING MEMBERS - BRIGITTE NOEL - FREDERICTON

Long time Film Co-op member Brigitte Noel
Long-time NB Film Co-op member Brigitte Noel is one of the most passionate people you will ever meet - in both official languages! She is known for her "get it done" style, and her unwavering commitment to the people and issues she believes in. Brigitte is in development on a new short film project, and hopes to shoot it through the Film Co-op with the members in 2020.
A native of Quebec City, Ms. Noel came to New Brunswick in 1992 when her husband was posted to CFB Gagetown. They made their home in Cambridge Narrows, raised their family, and put down roots.
As a wildlife photographer who specializes in birds, Brigitte got her pictures published in various magazines, sold prints, and donated many others for charity events. She believes that nature and tourism are the way to make this province known. A healthy environment can sustain a healthy economy.
Brigitte has lived the experience of struggling to find and hold meaningful employment while living is a small town. Her husband has spent time working in Alberta. She has done what she has needed to do to stay here in NB, working and volunteering for community organizations in arts and digital media, photography, bird and wildlife biology, and most recently working on the administrative side of democracy for Elections New Brunswick and for Elections Canada.
She has demonstrated competency in leadership and managerial roles, and is equally comfortable working alongside others as a member of a team. She will admit when she does not know something, and is never intimidated to learn new things.
Brigitte served as Vice-President of the New Brunswick Filmmaker’s Co-operative after working as the technical coordinator and first festival coordinator of the Silver Wave Film Festival. She sat on the board of directors of the Independent Media Arts Alliance before becoming their Vice-President. She received the Unsung Hero Award in 2002 as recognition for volunteer work with New Brunswick filmmakers and video artists in editing their films & videos. In 2005, she received Silver Wave Volunteer Award: Recognition Award for significant contribution to film and video in the province in a volunteer capacity. In 2006, she became the first Facilities Manager of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.
Brigitte was elected as the Vice-President of Nature NB in 2010, where she sat on various committees. She was also involved with A Celebration of Birds Nature Club and one of the three coordinators of the Nature Festival Event “Wings Over Queens County”.
She holds a diploma in Digital Media Design and Production, has completed university courses in Business and Administration and Biology at UNB. She is a curious and motivated learner who is often engaged in formal or informal learning, or in sharing her knowledge and skills with others.
Her recent work in the field of the electoral process opened her eyes to some of the challenges with democracy today, and gave her some ideas about how we could do better. She worked for Elections NB since 2010, first as a clerk then in 2012, 2014 and 2016, as the Call Centre Manager, Training Officer for Returning Officers & Clerks and finally, Examiner for electoral and financial reports. She was also, in 2015, one of the five Advisors for Political Parties and Candidates on the Support Network in Gatineau for the federal election. She was nominated in 2017, candidate for the Liberal Party in the riding of Gagetown – Petitcodiac.

UPDATE YOUR CAST AND CREW PROFILE TODAY!
So you've joined the NB Film Co-op. You've taken a bunch of workshops. You've gone to networking events. But you're still unsure how to actually get involved with a film shoot.
One way to get your name out there is to register for the NB Film Co-op Cast and Crew Profile. It's a database where filmmakers can see a list of members who are able to fill in various cast and crew positions. It's simple to fill out and in no time your name will be made available to all filmmakers who are looking for cast and crew for their upcoming projects. It has recently been modified to allow new members with little or no experience create a profile, and it also allows members to fill in a more complete resume if they wish.
It's also beneficial for our more experienced members too. It is a place where commercial filmmakers can go to search for people to hire for paid shoots, and it gives members a platform to self promote themselves and their work.
So please, take a few minutes to fill out your profile and help the Co-op promote you!
This benefit is for Film Co-op members in good standing with their dues paid up. Email info@nbfilmcoop.com to find out more info.
Note: If you want to get calls from outside production companies and local production companies looking for creative crew, please ask Cat to be put on her film job short list. She can't refer you if you don't let her know.
