I was an Executive Producer for a short film, My Younger Older Sister where I worked with the writer-director on the script, the casting, and the editing as well as taking part in the filming process. This experience made me go from thinking I wanted to work in film to knowing it. From there I moved to England and searched for any opportunity I could get.

Nicholas Staples

Born in New Brunswick, Canada, I have experience working on several independent short and feature films in various capacities including director, writer cinematographer, and editor. My films have been shown across Canada and have been recognized internationally, with my first two short films being invited to the 70th Festival de Cannes in both the Short Film Corner section of the Court de’ Metrage as well as Telefilm’s Not Short on Talent program.

Paul De Decker

Paul De Decker has over 20 years of experience in studying and teaching about dialects. He is Associate Professor in the Linguistics Department at Memorial University of Newfoundland. As a Fogo Island Research Fellow, Paul spent 1 month on the island capturing footage of the beautiful scenery and colourful accents of local Fogo Islanders for short documentary on Fogo's dialect. Paul has worked with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a forensic phonetician.

I'm a Saint John-based actor and composer. I have worked on several short films, plus some features, webseries, and documentaries. I'm also a regular on stage with the Saint John Theatre Company. My acting roles have ranged from dramatic to comedic to supernatural, and I love taking on new challenges.

Over twenty years as a photographer/videographer. Retired from the DND in 2007 and founded Canada (East) Films Inc. Produced and directed several commercials, music videos and recently wrote, directed and co-produced the short film The Window. Currently re-writing the short script for Whispers.

Tim O'Neill

Tim O'Neill was born in Saint John and calls Quispamsis his home. He has an English/History degree from Mount Allison University and also attended the film certificate program at Ryerson Poly-technical University. Tim has been an active member of the NB Film Co-op since 1996, but he has lost track of the total amount of productions he has worked on and how many crew members he has trained.

Tim Rayne joined the NB Film Co-op in 1998 and has worked on independent and commercial film productions and learned theoretical film concepts in graduate classes in film studies at Carleton University.

Tim directs and writes his own films including Song Bird (NB Joy Award) Hopewell (Short Venture Grant), Natural Remedy with co-director and co-writer Tony Merzetti, and Soup Du Jour.

First as a volunteer and now as Executive Director of the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative, Tony has devoted over twenty-eight years to making the province of NB a center for film creation in Canada.

Tony is known for his patience and dedication in his work with budding and experienced filmmakers alike. He has been instrumental in helping them to achieve their dreams and aspirations, all the while keeping the Co-op on solid financial ground.
