THE FILM PIX SCHOLARSHIP FOR ASPIRING FILMMAKERS, TIFF FILM CIRCUIT SAINT JOHN & NEW BRUNSWICK FILMMAKERS' CO-OPERATIVE - NOW LAUNCHED FOR 2017! PLEASE APPLY SJ RESIDENTS!

Continuing a Tradition of Supporting Greater Saint John’s Filmmaking Community

Are you a Greater Saint John resident? Do you watch movies, television ads, or online videos, get caught up in creative and technical values, and dialogue? Are you an armchair critic who always has a different take on how things could have been done? Would you like to try your hand at creating audio-visual content? Saint John is one of the cities in which the New Brunswick Film Co-op will offer beginner to intermediate film courses as part of its 2017 workshop series.

9 workshops covering screenwriting, directing, technical and creative skills will be offered starting in April, 2017, and THE FILM PIX SCHOLARSHIP FOR ASPIRING FILMMAKERS, TIFF FILM CIRCUIT SAINT JOHN & the NBFC all want to send you to this great, mobile film school, right in your own community, so you can learn from qualified, project-experienced instructors!

Scholarships will be provided to some lucky Greater Saint John residents to attend workshops at no charge. These participants will be sponsored by the three sponsor organizations.

If you take part, you acquire new skills that will make you more competitive in a global industry, and you get to do it with friends, having fun within a local film community!

Whether you’re a 55-year old hobby filmmaker, or a 17-year old aspiring filmmaker, you’re encouraged to participate. Great ideas, perspectives, and creativity come from both genders, and all ages and education levels. Film experience not required!
