Workshop Description: 

(Film Co-op Members are required to take at least one directing course before they direct/produce their own projects through the Film Co-op)

Using a combination of presentation and discussion, the workshop will cover filmmaking from the director’s perspective and what a director does on a film set.

This workshop will also cover working with actors and a film crew, and how to elicit the best performance from everyone involved in the film shoot.

The workshop is especially useful for those new filmmakers who are interested in writing, producing and directing their own material.

Instructor's Biography: 
Gordon Mihan is a screenwriter, director, and playwright. He has produced and directed seven festival-screened short films across Canada and has written and staged several plays in New Brunswick. His most recent short film Coached was nominated for Best Screenwriting and Best New Brunswick Short at the 2017 Silver Wave Film Festival. At the 2018 Silver Wave Film Festival he was nominated for Best Sound Design, Best Picture Editing, and Best Screenwriting for Arianna Martinez's short film Letters from the Dead.  He lives and works in Fredericton, New Brunswick and is a member of the NB Film Co-op.
