THE DIRECTOR’S PERSPECTIVE

(Film Co-op Members are required to take at least one directing course before they direct/produce their own projects through the Film Co-op)

Using a combination of presentation and discussion, the workshop will cover filmmaking from the director’s perspective and what a director does on a film set.

This workshop will also cover working with actors and a film crew, and how to elicit the best performance from everyone involved in the film shoot.

EDITING YOUR OWN SHORT FILMS

(Film Co-op Members are recommended to take at least one editing course before they direct/produce their own projects through the Film Co-op)

Want to edit your own creative work and do it well? Knowing the basics and getting started with non-linear picture editing is what this workshop is all about.

Tracey will walk you through editing a project in Adobe Premiere CC, from setting up the timeline to editing operations and best practices, making creative choices, and dealing with the other stages of post production.

HD FILMMAKING

(Required workshop for members who want to use the Film Co-op HD Camera and do their own projects through the Film Co-op.)

This workshop is designed for media artists and filmmakers who would like to explore camera techniques in their independent projects.

The Co-op's 4K camera will be explored in a hands on setting structure with shooting and content review.

FUNDING FUEL

This workshop aims to demystify grant-writing and application processes for local, provincial, and federal arts funding bodies. Tips, hands-on exercises, and in-depth discussion will reveal the logic of how to structure a strong proposal, how to write clearly without losing your artistic 'voice,' and how to put your best foot forward with support materials, documentation, and budgets. Sharpen your grant and proposal writing skills and increase your chances of success!
