ONLINE WORKSHOP

Workshop Description:

Every shot is a choice. Every cut is a decision. Every image relates to the ones before it and after it in specific ways, and it is weaving these together in the edit suite that creates the meaning, tells the story, and influences how emotion will be elicited by the final project. In this action-packed, hour-long workshop, we will discuss workflow and the process of starting to cut a project, and then move into various elements of film language: pacing, structure, shot choice, and sound, and how they work together to do two primary things: tell a story, and impart emotion to the viewer. Time permitting, we may also discuss the roles of editors on different types of projects, and Mind-Reading: working with a director.
