Workshop Description:

Music artist, composer, and filmmaker Cat LeBlanc digs deep and unveils the magic and mystery involved in artistic grant-writing and international artist residencies. 

Cat will send some of her successful grant applications to attendees post-workshop.

Instructor’s Biography:

Cat LeBlanc is a New Brunswick composer, musician, and filmmaker. She has collaborated with New Brunswick and international music artists and filmmakers. Cat has a body of original songs and music to her credit and has produced music for film and commercials. Cat has successfully received grants from the Canada Council for the arts, artsnb, and the province of NB to do her film and video projects.

Cat received an artsnb scholarship, additional grants to expand and develop her songwriting, composing, and arranging, and funding from the province of New Brunswick to do her first music album. In addition, she received a scholarship to do a three-week music residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in 2018, followed by a music artist residency with Gallery ARC, and then another music residency in Italy in 2019. Cat was awarded a Canada Council for the Arts grant to do a major music project in 2020, an infrastructure grant to upgrade her music studio, and additional music grants.
