Workshop Description:

In this 45 minute workshop, award-winning documentary filmmaker Francine Hébert shows the material she brings on set and explains what is essential for her filming with an iPhone.

Instructor’s Biography:

Francine Hébert is an award-winning documentary maker, evolving in media arts since 2002. In 2019, she took on camera work using an iPhone while directing and producing the independent short: A Way of Being Together. The film – almost entirely shot with an iPhone - follows La Famille LeBlanc’s quest for transmission of their Acadian traditional roots. The documentary won Best Acadian Short at the Festival international de cinema francophone en Acadie. Francine Hébert was also finalist in the media arts category during the Éloizes 2022 – a prize that highlights artistic excellence in Acadie. Since then, she has created 3 more short documentaries with an iPhone.
