ONLINE WORKSHOP

Workshop Description:

If you’ve ever felt judged by a blinking cursor at the top of a blank document, or feared that the mound of scribbled notes at the corner of your desk was becoming unstable and may avalanche, then this may be the workshop for you!

Your workshop facilitator has experienced both of these imposter syndrome-inducing situations and some others besides. Luckily, he’s developed some strategies for how to shape inspiration into an

intelligible idea for a screenplay and is willing to share.

Together we’ll explore methods for getting into a flow state to create unstructured material for your screenplay and then look at tools to add shape to that material without getting blocked.

Understanding the nuts and bolts of the screenplay is a benefit but by no means required. Time permitting, we can explore ideas that participants want to mold into a story.

Instructor Bio:

From the mid-00s through 2013, award-winning screenwriter Chris Fulton wrote a half-dozen short film scripts and, along with Danny Thebeau, wrote a feature film script - “Owl River Runners” - which premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival in 2015. Chris was equally productive in theatre, premiering two one-act plays with Notable Acts Theatre; “Hardwire” in 2010 and “Vanceboro” in 2012. He lives in Sussex, New Brunswick, with his great kids, fabulous wife, and moochy dog.
