IN PERSON WORKSHOP

Workshop Description:

The Key Grip is a film crew position which most people are unfamiliar with, yet they play a key role in the making of a successful film. Typically, on a short film, there should be at least one key grip or gaffer or both who can direct and mentor others on what has to be done.

In the film industry, the key grip refers to a person who works with the gaffer and the cinematographer in order to supervise all the grip crews, including lighting and rigging, to report the progress of the on-set gearing up to the director of photography.

Important skill sets for grips are:

Problem Solving Instincts

Creativity

Technical Knowledge

Strong Communication Skills
