Suzanne will discuss items that include: The state of the entertainment industry and the changes that are happening; Film funding; Optioning a screenplay and the importance of paperwork (contacts, etc.); Networking and creating relationship (Map of Relationships & Hitlist); Setting solid goals for your film which include a timeline with milestones (ie: an end date which may be your film premiere at a festival or a film market…. and then back time it to today, creating a detailed step-by-step strategy to achieve this goal); Creating a long-term vision for your career; How to get a mentor and why it’s so important; Making requests and having an accountability partner.
Biography: As president/producer of Snowfall Films, Inc. Suzanne Lyons has produced or exec produced thirteen feature films and is in soft prep on her fourteenth. She’s worked with wonderful talent including Christopher Walken, Naomi Watts, Alfred Molina, James Caan, Brenda Blethyn, Susan Sarandon, Donald Sutherland, Ellen Burstyn, Dermot Mulroney, Jon Lovitz, Asia Argento, Winona Ryder, Peter Fonda, Jeremy Renner, Jake Busey, Adrian Paul, Ed Begley, Jr. and more. Her films have won a gamut of awards and festivals including a BAFTA, a premier at the Directors Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and acceptance into the Toronto, Berlin, Los Angeles and Montreal Film Festivals. In addition, Suzanne launched and ran a film school, Flash Forward Institute, with a focus on marketing oneself in the industry. She’s been a guest speaker at over eighty industry events, guilds and organization and a member of the Producers Guild of America and the Canadian Media Producers Association. Suzanne published her book through Focal Press on “Indie Film Producing,” and launched her Film Producing video Masterclass along with a number of webinars on industry related topics at IFHAcademy.com.
Suzanne has partnered with Global Genesis Group on her film “Eve of Destruction.” They have attached Katee Sackhoff (“The Mandalorian”) and they are out to Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”) for their male lead now with the plan to shoot in Vancouver in late spring (2024). She has just signed on with Go Media Productions in Atlanta on her film project “The Back Nine” which will be filming in early summer in Atlanta. In addition, Suzanne is in the process of signing a deal with Showdog Studio on her TV series project “Wunderland”. She has a number of both feature and TV projects in varies stages of development. Suzanne is originally from Canada and lives with her husband in California.
